INCREASE in LOCAL UNION DUES

In accordance with Section 18 of the Constitution and General Laws, Article XII of our Local’s By-Laws and Article 4A of the California Conference Board By-Laws, the Local Union Dues rates for all active members are being adjusted effective July 1, 2010.  This adjustment will be based on the Minimum Dues and Per Capita Tax increase for the International ATU (based on the annual percentage increase in the Consumer Price Index), the Per Capita Tax increase for the California Conference Board and the Per Capita Tax increase for the South Bay Labor Council.

 

Minimum Local Union Dues

(Effective July 2010)

 

Beginning July 1, 2010, the Local Union Dues rate shall increase by $1.65 per month.  Local Union Dues must be adjusted each July based upon the annual percentage increase in the Consumer Price Index published by the U.S. Department of Labor (received from the International ATU).  Therefore, the minimum dues rate per month shall increase for active members by $1.65.

 

Also beginning July 1, 2010, the Local Union Dues shall increase by an additional $.10 in accordance with Article 4A of the California Conference Board By-Laws

 

Also beginning July 1, 2010, the Local Union Dues shall increase by an additional $.05 in accordance with the increased per capita rate for the South Bay Labor Council.

 

The above-mentioned increases do not include the monthly assessments for: Arbitrations, General Fund Assessments and Death Assessments; therefore, effective July 1, 2010, the Local Union Dues will increase from $74.56 to $76.36 per month (a total increase of $1.80).

 

Also, please note:  Due to the above-mentioned increases, the Local Union Dues rate each member pays when on the status of Long-Term Sick, Long-Term Industrial Injury, Maternity Leave, or Military Leave will also increase from $42.28 per month to $43.18 (½ of their Union Dues and the General Fund Assessment), effective July 1, 2010.
